House of Dragons:

We all are well familiar with Game of Thrones, right? And how can we forget The Unburnt, Daenerys Targaryen? Well, House of Dragon is the prequel of Game of Thrones series and is set almost two centuries back.

The story revolves around the accession of the throne among the Targaryen family. As GOT fans, we’re well aware of the mighty dragons. Since the Targaryens have them, they’re an indisputable force in the series.

However, other houses like House Stark, House Baratheon, and House Lannister that we’ve seen in GOT are also present in the series. That said, many houses that we may not know of such as House Mallister, House Beesbury, House Royce, House Cole, etc. also make the series bingeable.

In our experience, House of Dragon is more or less similar to Game of Thrones. However, like us, you may find the politics and hatches much fiercer than we’ve experienced in GOT. Also, it’s a fascinating story of House Targaryen falling into abyss. In short, if you’ve loved Game of Thrones, there’s no way you’re not going to like House of Dragons.

The Last of Us:

We don’t exactly know why, but sometimes, TV shows adapted from a game fail to create traction among the viewers. Resi and Halo series are well-known examples. However, HBO’s production The Last of Us is also adopted from a game, and it’s creating waves globally.

Pedro Pascal, playing the role of Joel and Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey are a treat to watch. They find themselves in the middle of a post-outbreak world, where everyone they’ve known all their lives has either died or turned into zombies. These zombies are cannibals, eager to devour and destroy anything in their way.

It’s a ghastly journey with no end in sight. Still, both of them are on a mission to turn things as they were before the fungal outbreak that turned humanity into zombies. You’ll really enjoy this show if you’re into drama, action, thrill, and a bit of disgusting zombies.

Mare of Easttown:

The lives of crime detectives are no less than a mystery itself. And this show outrightly proves it. Mare of Easttown was aired back in 2021 as a mini-drama series with only 7 episodes and bagged quite a few Emmys.

Kate Winslet plays the role of a murder detective in a small town,  a stern character, willing to take on gigantic challenges. Unlike most cases that she faced previously, a murder case in her small town erupts. As she progresses, she finds herself being confronted by the demons from one of her unsolved cases. It’s a chilling story of how detectives live their lives after going through horrible experiences.

Also, the supporting characters in the series, Even Peters and Julianne Nicolson have done a remarkable job in supporting roles. Plus, they too bagged Emmys for their characters in Mare of Easttown.

Chernobyl:

Bringing the unfortunate event of the Chernobyl Power Plant in Ukraine back to life, this HBO production is one for the ages. Although, it was aired back in 2019, but  if you haven’t seen it yet, watch it today as this miniseries is based on a real story, covering everything you need to know about the tragic incident in just 5 episodes.

From the moment reactor No. 4 exploded to the last hearing of the actors involved in the incident, each and everything is picturized in a detailed manner. Plus, the exceptional screenplay and powerful dialogues make us realize the importance of human lives that took it upon themselves to safeguard our future.

Industry:

Young graduates, they’re often fierce and energetic to take over the challenges. However, they’re desperate too, to land in the big companies and secure highly paid jobs.

Industry is all about such five individuals who are in the constant hunt to impress their clients by hook or by crook. They’re forced to compete against each other in a company, Pierpoint & Co, as they’ve limited permanent seats.

As the story evolves, you’ll see how these young guns use every means at their disposal to get the validation of their bosses and clients. In short, it’s a must-watch show if you’re up for a light content that is filled with twisting plots and a lot of suspense.

Yes, HBO Max may lack the quantity, but  when it comes to quality content, this streaming platform stands head and shoulders with any other platform. Don’t wait for the weekend, instead start streaming these 5 quality shows on HBO Max today! Happy Watching!
